Daycare Space
This year one of my goals was to create a more organized daycare space. Since I'm a one woman show it's important to me that I can find everything I need. I haven't seen too many "behind the scene" daycare spaces on the internet so I wanted to share mine. Maybe someone can find some inspiration from these pictures.
My home is a Ranch with a daylight basement. Upstairs is my families living space and I do my daycare downstairs in the daylight basement. Downstairs has an additional bedroom (which is now my Curriculum room), a family room that is only used for napping, and our utility room which is Toy Storage. I have a mini Kitchen with a refrigerator, sink, microwave and Toaster Oven. We also have our own bathroom that I use for diaper changing as well.
Curriculum Room
I have a small bedroom off the daycare space in a bedroom that wasn't getting much use. I didn't want the kids in there alone and I tried using it as a napping room for a while but it seemed silly to waste a whole room for just napping when I was overflowing with curriculum upstairs in the garage. So I moved the nappers into the family room (where I can see them better anyway), and moved all of my weekly theme boxes downstairs. As you can see below I also have all my books organized by theme. So at the end of the week it's soooo easy for me to change out my theme. No more running upstairs to the Garage with my stuff.
Utility Room-Toy Storage
I try and keep my toys group my type. I have a space for Science, Puzzles/Manips, Math, Literacy, Construction, Active Play, Dramatic Play prop boxes, and Toddler toys.
